Treating This Like a Business

This site is not just a hobby or an activity to do in my spare time. While I don’t know how successful it will be or how God will end up doing with it, one thing is absolutely critical understand and that is the simple truth that if anything is to come of this work then I have to take it seriously. I have to treat this like a business.

“Business” has such a negative connotation to it now adays. It’s almost as if a businesses are something indecent, unholy, or even evil; however, this is such a misunderstanding of the truth nature of business. All business provide a product or a service and as a result create jobs. The more successful a business is the more influence it has and the more benefit it can provide. It’s true there are some bad business out there. Businesses that forget their role in providing and choose instead to lecture or berate people; however, this is not the true point of a business at all. In addition to providing a need or service, it also provides an opportunity.

The ability to own your own means of production is such a powerful thing and something that is sorely misunderstood by many people. I want take part in that and in order to earn that right I have to take the work seriously and treat this with respect. It is the only way to do this site and myself justice.
