The Power of Now
Nothing is more powerful than the decision to do something now. Over the years I have cultivated and really nurtured a tremendous talent in the art of procrastination. I have spent virtually my entire life perfecting said talent, honing it and using it in any and all situations, for all things, at all times. Seriously. I can stall on anything, anytime, any where. I am true master.
Successful people do not have this talent. In fact, they woefully lack in the procrastination department; however, they more than make up for it in the “get your rear end in gear” department. There’s the rub you see. I now realize I have spent my entire life sharpening the wrong knife. This is the lynch pin for me letting go of my talent in procrastination and choosing to do things now.
The way out of procrastination is really quite simple. It’s deceptively straightforward. All one has to do is first, figure our what you should be doing and where you should be spending your time and second, choose to do those things now. Not 5 minutes from now, not a day from now, not during a little better moment. That is the very core of procrastination you see. It is the choice to put something off for a little bit of a better moment. The core of decisiveness is choosing to do what is required NOW.
