The Logo

I have been getting a few questions about the logo I created for this site and I thought it would be fun to describe how I came up with it and what the reasoning behind it was.

My favorite verse of the Bible is:

“If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” - John 14 (15-17) NIV

The Holy Spirit is God Imminent. It is his presence that brings us inspiration, enthusiasm (which means “God within”), and wisdom, along with love and mercy. That is what this blog is all about. It is about loving God, following his teachings and his commandments, and receiving and sharing his Grace with the rest of the world. Will we fail and fall short in this goal? Absolutely. But, this is not a bad thing, it is, in fact, a learning opportunity.

When you fail, it is often because you are attempting to rely on your own strength. Success, both in general and following God’s teaching, is only possible when you are relying on God’s strength. This is what the dove and the flame represent in the logo. Not only is it meant to signify the decent of the Holy Spirit and the presence of God within us (his creations). It is also meant to be a reminder to us all (but mostly to me) to be of service to God and his Divine Will and Mercy.

The number of stars is what has sparked the questions though. Those 13 stars actually represent the first 13 stars on the first American Flag and the founding 13 states of the nation. I wasn’t sure if that number and the blending of these two things was a good idea; however, this site is about more than just the principles behind religion, it is also about the principles behind nations and culture. What is more, I personally truly believe God’s wisdom and will were with our founding fathers when they laid down the building blocks for our nation. It is the only way to explain the power and the success of the US and the 13 stars in the logo are a recognition of this belief, a show of gratitude for it, and a reminder of why it is so important to preserve our nation as it was founded along with an understanding of what is at stake if we don’t.

Thank you all so much for your time reading! I hope you are enjoying your experience so far!
